From the underground raves of the ‘80s to the world’s biggest festival stages, Carl Cox has been a true pioneer of electronic music. Born in Manchester, UK, with Barbadian roots, Carl’s love for music started early, fueled by his father’s collection of soul, funk, and disco records.
As the Acid House movement exploded in the late ‘80s, Carl became one of its leading figures, known for his legendary three-deck mixing skills and infectious energy behind the decks.
Throughout the ‘90s and 2000s, Carl dominated the global dance scene, playing iconic venues like Space Ibiza, where he held his legendary residency for 15 years, defining an era of club culture. His sets at Glastonbury, Burning Man, and Ultra Music Festival continue to captivate audiences worldwide, proving that his passion for the music is as strong as ever.
Technics is the foundation of Carl's journey as a DJ. It’s not just about nostalgia—it’s about legacy. Technics has shaped the scene, and he is proud to have been part of that journey. Long live the 1200s!
Today, Carl Cox is more than just a DJ—he’s a label owner (Intec Digital), a producer, and a mentor for the next generation of artists. He’s also deeply involved in the evolution of live electronic performances, fusing techno with real-time instruments in his Hybrid Live shows.
The future? Still all about the music! Whether it’s spinning vinyl on Technics turntables, pushing boundaries with new sounds, or keeping the rave alive, Carl Cox remains the People’s Champion of Techno. Oh yes, oh yes!
