Mona Lee

House (deep house, soulful house, jacking house), Disco - Dj/Producer

House is where my home is

“I think it’s worth mentioning that I got my first Technics from my father. A black Technics SL 1200 MK2 was the best present he ever gave me. So, starting to play with the Technics also holds emotional value for me.

My dad would play his vinyls in our living room or in the hidden café in our garden, which we called “The Bar”. My mom and dad used to invite friends all the time to come listen to music, which mostly ended up in a night of dancing. Having (hobby) audiophiles as a mom and dad inspired me, as well as my brother, to become music geeks (and DJs).

Technically, Technics are the reason why I got my first student job in a jazz café, to start saving up for the second Technics SL 1200 MK2. I bought my second one with the advice of a good friend, Bart Red D. When it comes to vinyl or Technics, he’s like a guide, a true geek in the best way. Next to my dad, he has been an inspiration to me as a pure vinyl digger. Bart was always the one giving me that friendly push to keep practicing and get better at mixing vinyl with Technics. I really wanted to improve, as I started to find treasures on vinyl that were just not available digitally. That’s the most fun part about mixing with vinyls!

I’ve had this set-up for quite some years now, and they’ve never failed me (well, except when the needles needed changing). They even traveled from Belgium to Barcelona when I moved my music studio 7 years ago, and they are still spinning strong.”

Mona Lee is a multi-talented DJ, producer and vocalist that brings a soulful blend of disco and House music. Supported by Kerri Chandler, as a dynamic performer she leaves her mark on audiences with live singing.
She’s played around the globe at renowned venues like Rex Club or Djoon (Paris), Sisyphos or Watergate (Berlin), UNVRS, Club Chinois or Pikes (Ibiza), Nitsa or Brunch Electronik (Barcelona) or Traum Club (Belgium) to name me a few.
She’s had amazing releases on Kaoz Theory (US), House Puff (FR), and We Play House Recordings (BE), among others.

Her DJ career started off in Belgium (Ghent) when she was 19 years old, starting off as a resident DJ at the renowned Decadance. She got into a love affair with Barcelona and moved to the vibrant city, where she became part of DROP, a DJ collective and party concept inspired by the iconic parties of 80s Chicago and New York, such as The Loft, Paradise Garage and the Warehouse.
For over 10 years, Mona has been carving her path as both a DJ and vocalist, taking her voice and music across borders and stages around the world. Connecting with audiences all over Europe to Brazil and the US, her journey has been one of passion, resilience, and deep connection through music.

Along the way, she has collaborated with producers she once called her legends and inspirations, like Kerri Chandler, Jovonn, DJ Romain, DJ Steaw or Dennis Quin, who turned into creative partners. As a producer and songwriter, she continues to release her own productions, weaving her passion for classic House into her tracks. Her music has found a home on labels that feel like family, such as Kaoz Theory, We Play House Recordings or Heattraxx. Mona continues working side by side with artists who fuel her creativity and push her boundaries, so keep an eye out for evolving collaborative live sets.

Today, Mona Lee stands as a true international artist, living between Brussels and Barcelona, blending her unique voice and energy into the global electronic scene. At all times inspired, still evolving, and always reaching for new horizons.
